Rise of The Planet of the Apes

A movie I have always been a fan of. I was anticipating this movie for quite a while and finally managed to watch it yesterday. I must admit I am not very impress by this movie especially the story except for the smooth CG effects. None the less, I am still a big fan of the originals and hence supporting it. There is an ending credit so make sure not to skip it by leaving the theatre the moment the movie ends.

New purchases - Monday Golds

Yeah, just when they say Monday blues always hit you really hard, I had to break away that tradition. This picture was taken few weeks back but did not have the time to post. It was a really boring Monday evening and I figured a good shopping spree should kick off a good week ahead. Hence, I did some mini shopping. Got myself a Zara tee shirt, a Dior Homme '11 shades from KVA ^__^ (will post a more detail shot of the shades later), a sense magazine that comes along with a Mastermind Kubrick and lastly my monthly Biotherm cleanser.

Im not a big fan of Zara actually, but this tee really pull off a very interesting look accompanied by a really nice tight fitting jeans. Will post a picture of the Zara jeans I bought. Im starting to look into more of Zara's stuffs, although i must admit they are pretty limited in stock and rather expensive for their establishment. In the meantime, Im looking forward to other interesting stuffs that comes along the way.

Captain America - The First Avenger

You must be kidding if you didn't even bulge after seeing this superbly built hunk in the movie, Captain America. Yes, Chris Evans has been hitting the weights and following strictly on that diet of his. I have to confess his body is really well tone and the training must been really hard. The movie is overall a rather average or I would say moderately entertaining show of how captain america is born and eventually, an avenger. One the few MANLY characters I must emphasis is Red Skull. Man, check out that red skinless face of his. Awesome! Oh yeah, remember not to leave your seat because the trailer after the ending credits is quite worth the wait. I shall not disclose the details for now. hehe.

The Manly Diet

Yes, as it seems its time to focus more on the body. I have to admit that as much as you THINK that financial freedom and all that investments is important, your body is also one of your greatest investment. Frankly, if you were to be successful, it did still reflect alot on how you look. Imagine looking that hunky and macho, it does reflect much about a person's discipline as well as his need to perfection. Well, I would like to share some of the diet stuffs which I have been madly trying to maintain over the last few weeks.

I been trying to break down my daily intake of food from the usual 3-4 to 5-6 meals. They are mostly consist of very boring food. Heres the list:

1. Whole meal bread toast, fruits and 2 glasses of HL milk.

2. Broiled chicken breast meat, 2 types of vegetables (i basically enjoy broccoli by the way), baked potato and 2 glasses of HL milk.

3. Tuna salad, vegetables and yes again 2 glasses of HL milk.

4. You can still eat boiled eggs as in I mainly just feast on the egg whites (can get quite disgusting if your not used to the smell), ham and yes, 1-2 glasses of HL milk.

5. Cereals and Oats together with milk.

Yea and once all that is achieved, the few nice stuffs that follows will definitely be the supplements.
I am trying to train hard and hopefully in the months to come, achieve a nice physique.

The Five Worst-Dressed Men of the Month

Haven't been posting for the last few days as I am terribly busy with work and social life. Now that I am back, I would like to say one of the few websites that I personally visit a lot would be GQ aka Men.style.com

Interestingly, GQ has placed Depp as one of the worst dressed man of the month of May 2011! Looking at this picture, it really didn't felt that bad. I confessed that Depp has always been one the most stylish celebrities around and that even for me The Manly, I placed him in the Manly category. I don't pretty much agreed that this attire of his, is looking like shit. As a matter of fact I kinda like this organized, sloppy yet squarish look. I guess the colors were really a bonus for me. Afterall Im a big fan of black and white. The shoes itself lock the entire silohuette. I mean it looks damn good what?! Oh come on, give him a break. Depp's still loooking good rocking that look! Yeah!

Raf Simons Hi - Top Spring/Summer '11

Spotted a great pair of casual hi-tops from Raf Simons. At oki-ni, these boys sure know what real stuffs to bring in. As a matter of fact, I have to admit I actually love to have a great pair of casuals that I can wear on fridays when we normally dress down in office. I always been a fan of Raf ever since he started making really nice and beautiful trainers. Especially the white hi - tops from the past few seasons. This time round, he did not fail to surprise me again! Damn, I would definitely wanna kop this pair. Its so sick!

This pair of trainers is made from black matte leather uppers accompanied by vulcanized midsole together with a black bottom sole. Made in Italy, 100% leather and rubber.

LINDA FARROW X RAF SIMONS GEOMETRIC SUNGLASSES

As the title suggests, its none other than Linda and Raf's creation. This beautiful pair of shades gives off the geometric shape which will greatly hold our face and make it more stylish. This slightly more beefed up design, featured a wooden-look acrylic frame with a bigger lens for more eye protection. Made in Japan.

One pair: £ 224.00

Definitely a pair of Manly shades worth considering for.

GUCCI Guilty Pour Homme

Its Chris Evans! Fuck, he is one hot dude! Has anyone actually tried the Guilty homme perfume? The advertisement was really incredibly cool. A nice short film by Frank Miller. I do like how he portrays guilt in women through those lusty eyes! The design and shape of the bottle itself casts a level of masculinity for the sleek and bold man. Very, very Manly.

After all, they had Chris Evans featuring it already. What could you have expected more?

New York Design Week: Night Stands?

Chance upon this at Superfuture's supernews, my first reaction was - "ZAI"! Very cool stuff we have here ain't it? An exhibition by architect and editor Felix Burricheter. Man this nightstand looks damn cool lah, I have to love the setup as well. The minimalist surroundings really enhances the stand a lot and much better. The neon blue lights is amazing, and I kinda dig that raw look. You don't meh?

Lanvin : Frayed Jacket

Spotted this Lanvin frayed jacket at ssense.com and totally love it! Its basically a long sleeve nylon jacket constructed with a notched lapel collar accompanied by zip and button tab fastenings. There is epaulet on the shoulders and you know what? Im a sucker for these details!

As the name suggests, its a frayed jacket at the edges. Definitely a stylish nylon jacket not to be missed. A fine piece made in Italy. Lanvin for The Manly.

Dior Homme duffle bag

Hmmm saw this delicious bag all the time, every time, almost anytime when I walk past ION's DH boutique. I do admit that the bags that DH produce was way cooler back when Heidi was around. However, if you were to see this bag in person, its actually pretty sleek and stylish. It has got its own character. My friend had a great fetish for leather, just like me. I have already own a number of leather bags and haven't really have enough of sling bags, at least not enough to rotate around the month for now. Heeheehee...

Oh well, The Manly reckons this as one of his wish list and might even give a it shot once I made up my mind on it. Oh and I think they are running low on stock!

BOIS D'ARGENT cologne by Christian Dior

Have you visited any Dior Homme boutiques so far in your life before? All I must say I have loved Dior Homme since Heidi's time as creative director of the house. This cologne was one of the fragrances that  I bought whenever I shop at any of the DH boutiques. I haven't seen any of these around other that the DH boutiques. It has a very nice refreshing scent, almost like you just came out of the bathroom. To me this musky feeling is very seductive. My ex girlfriend actually loves it whenever she comes near my neck. It completely left her defenseless.

Anyway, my current combination would be YSL, Dior Homme and Ermenegildo Zegna. But as a cologne, the BOIS D'ARGENT is doing a fine job. One Manly cologne indeed.

Nooka shades

Ok I am seriously not a Nooka fan but this pair of shades caught my attention the other day when I went shopping with my pal, Paulson. Had to try it on. The black pair, known as "Mercury" was one of my favorite. Here's a picture I tried with the new model. In fact the neon range actually glows in the dark. Not exactly for The Manly, except maybe the black. It strikes quite a bit of a style.

Prices range from S$180 to S$365.

OH MY GOD! George is 50!

Yes! One of the most eligible Manly man of all time, George Clooney is 50th! I always like seeing George in white shirt. It somehow makes him very charming. This is one of the hottest man alive to still attract women of all ages. And not to forget, nice hair ah!

Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit De L'Homme Cologne

This is definitely one of the most Manly perfume I have used so far. And I was like "what the fuck?" when I was told that YSL has decided to withdraw their supply of fragerances. I got my last one from Tangs. Damn, this perfume gives off a rather mysterious scent and  it is extremely rich in that it leaves a masculine and intense aroma.

And the best part of it, the design of the packaging is "Tok Kong"! Oh, not to mention it, The Manly likes Black.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster

Another very impressive Roadster. Totally "No-Horse-Run".

Factory900

The aesthetics of the beautifully crafted and engineered eyewear from japan, Factory900. The designs are simply out of this world. One of the few brands that I have always been very much fascinated. To me, not everyone out there can wear it up and it is definitely one of its kind! It look very much like googles done to fit nicely on you.

Some of the designs can be extremely avant grade. But The Manly prefers the sleek black google.  Below is a video doing the demonstration for wearing of the Factory900 glasses. Feel free to email me if you are looking for a pair here in Singapore.

Mini Cooper bicycle

Are you ready for a nice evening cycle session with your new fling? Or lover?

Last weekend, while browsing through Tangs, I saw a section selling Mini Cooper bicycles. These babies are the bomb! There were folding bicycles, as well as ready assembled ones.  In case you have some spare cash to splurge, you can actually jazz up the bicycle with some amazing accessories.

Im quite sure everyone at East Coast probably rents a retarded bicycle from the kiosk every time they hit the park. Perhaps it would be great to be a little different than the typical kind.

Anyway, these babies cost like S$700++ to S$1000++.

The Manly Ride - BMW Z4

I bet you must have seen this Manly ride on the road right? Yes, its the BMW Z4. Im telling you, it ROCKS LOR. No doubt, one of the rides that I will definitely want to feature on my blog. This ride has a very sleek and prestigious look and can be quite a chick magnet. If I am not wrong, it has both the hard top and soft top ones.

I was on my way to St James Powerhouse that night for a Manly gathering with my cousins to watched a soccer match and happen to see the Z4 in white. I must confess it look damn good lar! Even in the night, the reflections from the night street lamps were like dancing on the car.

From what I know, this extremely stylish Z4 is one powerhouse which is built with a 3.0L engine and six speed gearbox.  The engine has extremely great performance and when it comes to revving on the acceleration its superbly smooth. A friend of mine who works in as a car dealer told me the Z4 has an awesome pick up as well. It reaches 100kmph in a mere 5.2 seconds?!

If you asked me, this ride is one Manly ride.

Takashi Kaneshiro

One of the few men out there classified as The Manly mens' category. Ever since young I have always admired the charms of Takashi Kaneshiro. Lately, he has done up quite a few impressive campaign shots for Armani. I have taken out some shots which I personally believe to be very sexy and seductive. As a man gets more mature, it is extremely important to look sleek and sharp. The hairstyle should give off the sleek look.

Long side burns and short stubs gives off a level of maturity while the long thick eyebrows trimmed to precision, extrudes an intense look. Overall, this new image gives a very sophisticated impression for a man, especially one of such calibre.

Wash That Manly face!

It appears that most men are using economic and cheap facial products that is mostly found in the supermarkets or mama stores. Worse, if you are one of those guilty of using the worse possible cleanser on earth - The Soap, you are hopeless and completely un-Manly!

I find Biotherm's Cleansing Gel for normal skin, a very easy to use and effective cleanser that keeps the face really refreshed after bath. And best of all, I like the fragrance. Its very Manly.

I have landed on Earth.

Attention, all my fellow Manly people,

This shall be the place where you can view the world through the eyes of The Manly. I must document the life I see and understand from the smallest possible details to the most significant changes I see in men as time progress. Most importantly, The Manly can have no money at all, but he must have style.
